An ambulatory ECG recorder, also known as a Holter, is a small ECG machine that can be carried around and is capable of continuously monitoring the body's heartbeat for 24 hours.

As a portable medical testing device, the ECG recorder plays an important role in daily heart health monitoring and disease diagnosis. However, there are still some obvious shortcomings of the commercially available ECG recorders:

  • No online processing capability: many devices on the market are unable to upload ECG data to the cloud or a doctor's workstation in real time or quickly.

  • Limited operating time: Many ambulatory ECG recorders have a limited number of hours of monitoring, usually only for 24 hours or shorter periods of time.

  • Limited Processing Power: Ambulatory ECG recorders on the market are generally limited in terms of data processing power. Due to the performance and algorithmic limitations of the devices themselves, they can often only perform basic ECG signal analysis and processing.


Nanochap Nine Senses Series EPC001 is an electrophysiology SOC chip, which integrates two analog front-ends, EEG/ECG/EMG/Photonics, and a powerful RISC-V microcontroller. It can detect up to more than twenty parameters, including cuffless blood pressure, blood oxygen, heart rate, respiration and so on. Widely used in all kinds of wearable smart devices, smart home, medical equipment and other applications.

Online data processing through Bluetooth or wireless network connection

The application of EPC001 chip makes the dynamic ECG recorder very convenient in data processing and sharing. Traditional ECG monitoring devices often require data to be transmitted to medical devices for analysis through a wired connection. However, with the Nine Senses Series EPC001 chip, the ECG recorder can transmit real-time ECG data to smartphones or the cloud via Bluetooth or wireless network connection, realizing online data processing.


Self-contained algorithmic unit/low power consumption mode, can output more than 20 health parameters

 One of the biggest features of the EPC001 chip is that after collecting the biomolecular signals, it will pass through an internal hardware algorithm unit - Heart APP, which will output a greater than 20 items of human health parameters. At the same time, the EPC001 chip has three low-power modes: sleep mode, shutdown mode, and standby mode. Thanks to these three modes, products utilizing the EPC001 chip can have more runtime.


Highly integrated, with independent ECG acquisition capability

The EPC001 chip has the amplifier, ADC acquisition and some storage space inside the chip, and only the electrodes and LEDs need to be connected externally. In addition, the EPC001 chip can guarantee the integration degree and at the same time ensure the size of the chip, the EPC001 chip is only 7mmx7mm.
