In healthcare, pain management has always been a central concern for both patients and doctors. Although traditional medication is effective, the risk of side effects and addiction can never be completely avoided. And Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) technology, as a non-invasive, drug-free physical therapy, has become an important tool for chronic pain management. In recent years, with the deep integration of microelectronics technology and biomedical engineering, Nanochap launched the multi-functional neurostimulation chip NS4, which redefines the boundaries of TENS technology with groundbreaking innovations, and injects a brand new vitality into the field of pain management.

The basic principle of TENS technology is to apply low-intensity pulsed current through electrodes on the skin surface to stimulate peripheral nerve fibers, interfering with the transmission of pain signals or promoting the release of endogenous analgesic substances (e.g. endorphins). Its non-invasiveness, portability and safety make it widely used in the daily management of chronic pain such as low back pain, arthritis and neuralgia. However, traditional TENS devices have long faced the following challenges:
- Single parameter adjustment: Most devices only support fixed frequencies and waveforms, making it difficult to adapt to the individualized needs of different patients.
- Charge imbalance: leading to skin burns, electrode corrosion, and even tissue damage.
- Functional limitations: Focusing only on pain relief, it is difficult to integrate with other rehabilitation needs.
These pain points call for a smarter, more efficient and more humanized technological solution.

Nanochap NS4 is a multifunctional neurostimulation chip designed for products that require electrical stimulation technology. It adopts a highly integrated design, integrating the functions of power switch, high-voltage boost converter, and multi-mode stimulation module on a 4×4mm-sized chip. The chip redefines the possibilities of neurostimulation devices through five core technology breakthroughs.

1. Constant Current Source Technology: Ensuring Stable Current Output
The Nanochap NS4 chip utilizes advanced constant current source technology to maintain a stable current output under different skin impedance conditions. This technology ensures that the current flow through the skin remains constant by monitoring the changes in skin impedance in real time and automatically adjusting the output voltage. This constant current output not only improves the precision of treatment, but also reduces skin discomfort and potential risks caused by current fluctuations.
2. Multiple Stimulation Modes: Meeting Diverse Treatment Needs
The Nanochap NS4 chip provides multiple stimulation modes, including traditional, acupuncture, shock, and combined, each with 16 levels of adjustable intensity. Each mode has 16 levels of intensity adjustment, allowing users to personalize the settings and adjustments according to their needs and physical conditions. The traditional TENS equipment often has only one or several fixed exercise modes, which is difficult to meet the diversified needs of users.
3. Multi-scene expansion: from a single analgesic to full scene coverage
NS4 chip breaks through the limitation of a single function and realizes the integration of TENS (analgesia), EMS (electrical muscle stimulation) and EMS RP (muscle rehabilitation) :
TENS mode: for patients with chronic pain, it provides a multi-speed analgesic program;
EMS mode: provides effective relief and treatment for muscle tension and pain caused by sports injuries and sedentary lifestyle.
This “one-core, multi-purpose” design enables the device to cover multiple scenarios such as home healthcare, sports rehabilitation and clinical treatment.
From TENS technology to Nanochap NS4 chip, we have witnessed a medical revolution driven by the innovation of the underlying chip. NS4 not only solves the pain points of traditional devices, but also pushes the neurostimulation technology to a whole new dimension through intelligent, multi-functional and ecological design.
